Terms of Service

These terms apply to your use of StableTank. The service is currently free to use and provides informational aquarium tools only — not professional or veterinary advice.

StableTank (https://stabletank.app) provides aquarium tracking tools, including tank profiles, water chemistry logging, maintenance history, stocking context, journal notes, and related analytics. The service is operated by Stephen Hyatt.

By accessing or using StableTank, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you use StableTank on behalf of a business, club, or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.

You must be at least 13 years old to use StableTank, or have verifiable consent from a parent or legal guardian if you are under 13 where permitted by law.

You must use the service lawfully and only in a manner that does not interfere with StableTank, its infrastructure, or other users. You are responsible for providing accurate registration information and keeping your account credentials confidential.

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, including any aquarium data, notes, or maintenance records saved through the service.

StableTank is currently offered without charge. If paid features are introduced in the future, we may update these terms and provide additional billing terms before you are charged.

StableTank may add, remove, improve, suspend, or change features at any time. Some features depend on cloud sync, third-party infrastructure, or integrations that can change or become unavailable.

We do not guarantee that every feature will remain available, that any roadmap item will ship, or that the service will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every aquarium workflow.

You retain ownership of the information you submit to StableTank, including tank details, readings, maintenance logs, stocking records, photos, notes, and similar content.

To operate the service, you grant StableTank a limited, non-exclusive right to host, store, reproduce, process, adapt, transmit, back up, and display that content solely as needed to provide, secure, maintain, and improve the product.

You represent that you have the rights needed to submit the content you upload and that your content does not violate any law or third-party rights.

You agree not to misuse the service or attempt to access it in unauthorized ways. In particular, you may not:

• reverse engineer, copy, decompile, or attempt to extract source code except where applicable law allows it
• probe, scan, scrape, overload, or interfere with the service, its APIs, or related infrastructure
• upload malicious code, attempt to bypass security features, or gain unauthorized access to any account or system
• use the service to store unlawful, infringing, abusive, or deceptive content
• misrepresent your identity, your authority, or the source of aquarium data submitted through the product

StableTank's calculators, diagnostics, reminders, forecasts, and recommendations are provided for informational purposes only. They are not veterinary advice, aquatic biology advice, emergency guidance, or a substitute for professional judgment.

Aquarium outcomes depend on many factors, including livestock species, plant load, filtration, maintenance practices, equipment accuracy, local water conditions, and user-entered data quality. Guidance generated by the app may be incomplete, generalized, delayed, or inappropriate for your specific setup.

You are solely responsible for all care decisions affecting your livestock, plants, dosing, stocking, maintenance schedule, water changes, photoperiod, and equipment configuration.

StableTank does not guarantee tank stability, algae prevention, chemistry accuracy, disease prevention, livestock survival, or any specific husbandry outcome. You should verify important measurements and decisions independently before acting on them.

StableTank relies on third-party providers to operate, including Supabase (authentication and database storage) and Cloudflare (hosting and delivery). Those providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and privacy commitments.

We are not responsible for outages, data loss events, access interruptions, or policy changes caused by third-party providers, although we may work to address them where reasonably possible.

StableTank, including its software, branding, visual design, text, analytics presentation, and related content, is owned by Stephen Hyatt or licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

These terms do not grant you ownership of the service itself, only a limited right to use it in accordance with these terms.

We may suspend or terminate access to StableTank if we reasonably believe you violated these terms, created security or abuse risk, exposed the service to legal liability, or misused the platform.

You may stop using the service at any time. To request deletion of your account and associated cloud data, email support@stabletank.app from the address linked to your account.

After termination, some data may remain in backups, logs, or legally required retention systems for a limited period, subject to applicable law and operational necessity.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, StableTank is provided on an as-is and as-available basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted availability.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, StableTank and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, business, goodwill, revenue, livestock, plants, equipment value, or other losses arising from your use of or inability to use the service.

Because the service is currently offered without charge, our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed one hundred Canadian dollars (CAD $100), except where applicable law does not allow such a limitation.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

You agree that the courts located in British Columbia, Canada will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these terms or your use of StableTank, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

Before starting formal proceedings, you agree to contact support@stabletank.app and allow a reasonable opportunity to resolve the concern informally.

We may update these terms from time to time to reflect product changes, legal requirements, or operational updates. When we do, we may revise the effective date and post the updated terms on the site.

Your continued use of StableTank after updated terms become effective means you accept the revised terms.
